How PTE Core Writing works
Writing in PTE Core is practical. Summarize Written Text checks that you can pick out the main message of a text and express it briefly in one or more sentences. Write Email checks that you can cover three required points in a message with the right tone for the reader.
Both tasks are typed on screen with a word counter. Your writing score also draws on other tasks that involve writing, such as Write from Dictation and Summarize Spoken Text in the Listening part.
