Question 1

Is EnglishHub.io affiliated with the official exam providers?

Accepted Answer

No. EnglishHub.io is an independent preparation platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any exam owner. Exam names are used only to identify the tests users may choose to prepare for.

Question 2

Can EnglishHub.io register me for the official examination?

Accepted Answer

No. Registration for official examinations must be completed directly through the relevant examination authority. EnglishHub.io provides preparation materials only.

Question 3

Does practicing on EnglishHub.io guarantee a specific score?

Accepted Answer

No. Your final score depends on your starting level, the time and effort invested, the quality of your practice, and conditions on test day. EnglishHub.io is designed to support structured preparation, but no preparation platform can guarantee any particular outcome. We encourage you to approach any platform making such guarantees with caution.

Question 4

Does EnglishHub.io use real examination questions?

Accepted Answer

No. Using official examination questions without authorisation would constitute copyright infringement. All practice content on EnglishHub.io is independently authored to reflect the format, timing, and approximate difficulty of each examination, based on publicly available specifications.

Question 5

Do I need an account to use the platform?

Accepted Answer

You may browse the examination overview pages without an account. To begin practice sessions or retain your progress, account registration is required.

Question 6

Is there a free tier?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All new accounts include access to a limited set of practice tasks across each examination. For the full practice library, full mock examinations, and detailed assessment feedback, a Pro subscription is required.

Question 7

Which examination should I select?

Accepted Answer

The appropriate examination depends on your specific application requirements. For Canadian permanent residency: CELPIP General and IELTS General Training are the most widely accepted; PTE Core is also approved by IRCC. For university admission: IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic are commonly required, varying by institution. For healthcare professional registration in specific jurisdictions: OET is typically required. We recommend confirming the requirements directly with the relevant institution or authority before purchasing any preparation materials.

Question 8

Is any software installation required?

Accepted Answer

No. EnglishHub.io runs entirely in a modern web browser. A functional microphone is required for speaking practice tasks. No application download or installation is necessary.

Question 9

What is the difference between practice tasks and a mock examination?

Accepted Answer

Practice tasks allow you to focus on individual task types — a single speaking prompt, a reading passage, a writing essay — in isolation. A mock examination follows the published structure and timing of the official test, including the section order and scheduled breaks, in one sitting.

Question 10

Can I pause a mock examination?

Accepted Answer

No. Mock examinations are timed like the published test. Closing the browser tab will end the session. This restriction is deliberate — a mock is most useful when it is taken under the timing pressure of the official test.

Question 11

How is writing assessed?

Accepted Answer

Automated assessment provides a structured breakdown based on the publicly available scoring criteria for each examination: task response, coherence and cohesion, grammatical range and accuracy, and lexical resource. The result is an indicative estimate aligned to the published rubric. It is not an official score and does not replicate the calibration process applied by accredited human examiners.

Question 12

How is speaking assessed?

Accepted Answer

Responses are transcribed and analysed against the public scoring rubric, covering fluency indicators, pronunciation, grammatical range, vocabulary, and task completion. As with writing, the result is an indicative estimate, not an official score.

Question 13

Why does my EnglishHub.io score differ from my official result?

Accepted Answer

EnglishHub.io uses independently developed practice scoring and does not use an exam owner's proprietary scoring process. Any EnglishHub.io estimate is for practice guidance only and may differ from an official result.

Question 14

What is the AI Tutor?

Accepted Answer

The AI Tutor is a personal study coach you reach from the 'AI Tutor' link in the navigation. It is grounded in your selected examination and answers your questions: how each section is scored, what a task type expects, study-plan suggestions, grammar and vocabulary explanations, and targeted feedback on your writing and speaking. Treat it as preparation guidance — always confirm official scores, dates, and policies with the test provider.

Question 15

Is the AI Tutor free?

Accepted Answer

The AI Tutor is a Pro feature. Free accounts can open it and see how it works, but sending messages requires a Pro subscription. Upgrading lets you message the tutor about every section of your examination, within a daily fair-use limit on messages.

Question 16

What is the AI Generator?

Accepted Answer

Once you have completed every mock exam and practice set for your examination, the AI Generator picks your next mock exam or practice set from that examination's existing library and opens it for you, a different one each time. You can use it for up to 10 mock exams and 50 practice sets per examination each calendar month. It does not write new questions for you: everything it opens is part of the same library every Pro member can browse, which we produce with AI tools and check with automated quality controls.

Question 17

Who can use the AI Generator?

Accepted Answer

The AI Generator is included with the Monthly and 90-Day plans. It is not included with the 7-Day Pass or the free tier. It unlocks for the examination your plan covers once you have completed every mock exam and every practice set in that examination's library: a mock exam counts when you finish a full sitting of it, and a practice set counts when you submit any practice task from it. Your progress towards unlocking it is shown on your dashboard. Once it is unlocked, your allowance of 10 mock exams and 50 practice sets resets on the first day of each calendar month. On a 7-Day Pass you can still open every mock exam and practice set yourself.

Question 18

Does the AI Generator give me content that isn't in the library?

Accepted Answer

No. The AI Generator only chooses from the mock exams and practice sets already in the library, so its quality, format, timing and scoring are exactly those of the library itself. Like all our material, the library is independently produced to reflect each examination's public specifications and does not reproduce official test questions.

Question 19

Does the AI Tutor or Generator use real exam questions?

Accepted Answer

No. The AI Tutor's answers and the library the AI Generator picks from are produced independently from publicly available format and scoring specifications. Using official examination questions without authorisation would constitute copyright infringement, so no official content is reproduced.

Question 20

What is the cost of a Pro subscription?

Accepted Answer

Current pricing is published on the Pricing page (/pricing). Rates may vary by region and by billing cycle.

Question 21

What does a Pro subscription include?

Accepted Answer

The full mock-examination library and practice library, EnglishHub.io AI writing and speaking feedback, the AI Tutor study coach, detailed progress analytics, and email support. AI feedback and AI Tutor messages are subject to daily fair-use limits that keep the service available for everyone. Monthly and 90-Day plans also include the AI Generator: once you have completed every mock exam and practice set for your examination, it picks your next mock exam or practice set from the library for you (up to 10 mock exams and 50 practice sets a month). The 7-Day Pass does not include it. The complete feature set is listed on the Pricing page.

Question 22

Can I cancel at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cancellation is available from Settings → Subscription at any time, with no reason required. Access to Pro features continues until the end of the paid billing period.

Question 23

Does the subscription renew automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every plan, including the 7-Day and 90-Day Passes, renews automatically at its standard price until cancelled. We normally email a reminder 3 days and 1 day before each renewal, unless you have turned these reminders off. Renewal can be prevented by cancelling through Settings → Subscription before the renewal date.

Question 24

Are refunds available?

Accepted Answer

Refunds are available subject to the conditions set out in our Refund Policy (/refund), which includes a seven-day window and usage thresholds. Please read that policy before making a purchase.

Question 25

Are student concessions or promotional rates available?

Accepted Answer

Promotional offers are issued periodically. There is no permanent student discount scheme. Discounts are not offered in exchange for reviews, referrals, or social media posts.

Question 26

Which payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Major credit and debit cards, and certain regional payment options, are accepted via our payment processor (Stripe). Available methods at checkout depend on your billing country.

Question 27

Will I be charged local taxes?

Accepted Answer

Prices are shown and charged in US dollars, and the price shown is the total you pay: no sales tax, VAT or GST is currently added at checkout. Your bank may charge its own currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fee.

Question 28

My microphone is not functioning on a speaking task.

Accepted Answer

Confirm that your browser has microphone permission granted for this site (browser settings → site permissions → microphone). Close any other application that may be holding the microphone. If the issue persists, try an alternative browser or device.

Question 29

Audio is not playing on listening tasks.

Accepted Answer

Confirm your system volume and browser tab are not muted. If you are on a corporate or institutional network, audio delivery may be restricted by a firewall. Refreshing the page often resolves transient issues.

Question 30

The page became unresponsive during a mock examination.

Accepted Answer

Contact support@englishhub.io with the date, time, and your account email address. Server-side session logs are retained and reviewed for technical failures on our end. Where a technical fault is confirmed, the attempt will be reinstated.

Question 31

Is the platform compatible with mobile devices?

Accepted Answer

The platform is accessible on mobile, however mock examinations and extended writing tasks are optimised for a laptop or desktop environment — consistent with the conditions of the official examinations. Mobile is suitable for lessons and short practice tasks.

Question 32

How do I update my email address?

Accepted Answer

Navigate to Settings → Account. A verification message will be sent to the new address before the change is applied.

Question 33

How do I permanently delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete account. Account deletion is irreversible. Our Privacy Policy (/privacy) sets out which data is deleted and which is retained for legal or operational purposes.

Question 34

Where is my data stored and processed?

Accepted Answer

Storage locations, processors, and international data transfer arrangements are documented in our Privacy Policy (/privacy).

Question 35

We are an educational institution seeking a licensing arrangement.

Accepted Answer

Please use the Partners page (/partnerships) to submit an enquiry. Institutional arrangements are discussed individually and are not available on a self-service basis.

Question 36

Is there an affiliate programme?

Accepted Answer

Yes, managed separately from institutional partnerships. Details are available on the Affiliate page (/affiliate).

Question 37

May I use EnglishHub.io content in my teaching materials or published content?

Accepted Answer

Not without prior written authorisation. All content on EnglishHub.io is protected by copyright. Licensing and permissions enquiries should be directed to partners@englishhub.io.
