What is PTE Core?
PTE Core is Pearson's English test designed specifically for Canadian immigration. It is accepted by IRCC for Express Entry, work permits, and citizenship applications. Like PTE Academic, it is AI-scored and computer-delivered. Scores are reported from 10–90, mapped to Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).

Scoring System
PTE Core uses a 10–90 scale. Each skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) is scored individually, then combined into an overall score.
