What is IELTS General?
IELTS General Training is designed for people planning to migrate to an English-speaking country or seeking work experience or training programmes there. It uses the same Listening and Speaking modules as IELTS Academic but has a different Reading and Writing component that reflects everyday English in social and workplace contexts.

Scoring System
IELTS General uses a Band 0–9 scale. Each skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) is scored individually, then combined into an overall score.

How to Register

Test Day Tips
For Task 1 Writing, write a letter — not a report or essay. Match the tone to the prompt (formal/informal).
The General Training Reading contains everyday texts. Read signs, notices, and workplace materials in English to prepare.
Bring your original passport — the same one used during registration.
Arrive 30 minutes early to complete check-in procedures.
